We are a world leading think-tank for the future of food.

Our purpose is to drive the transformation of a next generation food system for our next generation. Insights, co-creation and activations are our tools.

Let's change the food industry together

Farming and food production are responsible for about a third of global carbon emissions. And our population is growing. We believe a better food system is possible and it’s a billion-dollar opportunity. Let’s build something together!

Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation, we love co-creating

This year’s Big Meet marks the 10th edition of our food tech conference, but also the beginning of new initiatives when Sweden Foodtech's Big Meet moved in to Gastronord, the Nordics' largest fair for the professional food sector.

We gathered speakers, startups and investors from all over the world. But also chefs, farmers, policymakers, activists, consumers, suppliers, food producers. And when people from different parts of the ecosystem meet, conversations happen. Change happens.

And once again, we curated our acclaimed Test Kitchen – and it was a success. Chefs and companies met in the kitchen to test, taste and work with the future of food.

The new addition to this year was a full day of action – our Food Service Summit “Beyond the plate” – which was dedicated to the untapped potential of the Food Service Industry.

We want to thank all of you that attended, created and contributed to this years event, and see you next year, if not sooner!

Innovation in an urban food system

“What role do cities, companies and research play in the urban food system? And what innovative work is required for us to be able to eat good, healthy and sustainable food?” Johan Jörgensen talks at a lunch seminar at Stockholm City Hall on how the city’s actors can work together to reduce the climate impact of food and create a resilient urban food system.

Reitan Convenience <3 Sweden Foodtech

Chefs and Food tech

At the Big Meet in Stockholm 2023 we were happy to welcome Asif Culinary Institute, together with a delegation of Israeli chefs to the Test Kitchen. Read about their experience and listen in to their panel “Cooking up a better future: Technology, Tradition and an Israeli Recipe for our Food System”.

Want your own Test Kitchen format?

Do you have a product that you want to launch, but need data, testing and feedback?

"I participated with Kaffe Bueno for the first time in 2023 and had an excellent experience. Having multiple chefs experimenting with our ingredients in front of me and being able to get their feedback on real-time was a uniquely valuable way to increase our understanding of the USPs of our ingredients."
Alejandro Franco, Kaffe Bueno

"Big Meet was the first exhibition we were offered to take part in a "test kitchen" format. We found the meeting with leading chefs very useful - first for getting feedback on our product, and second, as an opportunity to open new collaboration options after the event. The chefs chosen were very cooperative, presented unique dishes, allowed to use their names and recommendations on social media and even shared the recipes for the dishes they served. We saw that the audience got enthusiastic with the format and mainly gathered next to the kitchen.
After the show, we were able to keep in touch with 2/4 chefs, and their restaurants became our clients."

"Working with Sweden FoodTech is a joy. They consistently help us reach the right people, deepen our understanding of the issues, and support us in defining strategy. The team are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, their networks in Sweden, the Nordics and worldwide are unsurpassed, and they have deep knowledge of and true passion for the biggest and thorniest problems facing local and global food systems. (They also know where all the best places to eat are.) Look no further; you cannot go wrong with this rowdy and dedicated group."

"Sweden Foodtech Big Meet is a global thought leader in convening and educating others about innovation in food technology. I have been fortunate to attend and spend at several events. Well-organized, great team with fantastic thought leaders and a thought leader in the food tech space, I was fortunate to be allowed to speak and help promote the event. Johan Jörgensen, Daniela Illerbrand, and their team put on a great show and add that special ingredient that most events lack. They put a soul into their events. Don’t miss it. Please support it."
